چکیده
It is a unusual practice in national new pavement designs and rehabilitations to consider the nonlinear elastic behavior of materials that constitute or will layers. However, linear response simplification actual layers behavior, since used structure have stiffness dependent on stress state (granular subgrade) temperature time load application (asphalt concrete). In view this, this paper aims study structures two monitored sites city Santa Maria/RS, through tests with FWD equipment, applying four different levels loading full extension these sites. structures, pavements showed tendency stiffening increasing acting at initial measuring distances (near point), which represent compression all make up pavement. The farther from point, referring subgrade, indicated, most cases, load-deflection relationship both backcalculated resilience modulus confirmed impressions drawn relationships, indicating granular (base sub-base) analyzed sites, directly proportional increase confining stress. subgrade experimental exhibited varied could be simplified by elasticity, without considerable loss. same fact happened for asphalt concrete material site 1. For 2, indicated vertical surface increment center plate.

Rut Resistant Asphalt Pavements
The three major distress conditions affecting the performance of asphalt pavements are permanent deformation or rutting, fatigue or load associated cracking, and low temperature or thermal cracking. In an earlier technical topics article (Fall, 1998), we examined the causes of fatigue cracking and the importance of good compaction during construction to help minimize this type of distress. In t...

Dynamic Hydraulic Conductivity (Permeability) of Asphalt Pavements
External pressures applied to a saturated pavement pore structure are often dynamic due to the repeated tire loading. Therefore, a dynamic permeability constant is more realistic representation of the response of a pavement pore structure than the Darcy’s permeability. To investigate the unsteady (dynamic) fluid flow in asphalt pavements, a 3D fluid flow model was developed using the lattice Bo...
